Abhishek Narayan Verma

Born in Bihar, Abhishek Narayan Verma is an award-winning artist, and has received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India in 2014 as well as the Jean-Claude Reynal Scholarship (France) in 2019. 

Verma did his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from College of Art, New Delhi in 2012, further went on doing his Master in Visual Arts in Printmaking from Faculty of Fine Arts (Gold Medallist) from the M.S University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat in 2015. 

His works revolve around the ideas of dysfunctionality, socio-political conditionings, memory recall and fabrication, personal insecurities arising out of one’s circumstances and anxiety. The question about the idea of 'self-validation' while living in between various conflicting identities and how this synthesis interacts with the construction of our spaces at present are aspects he tries to transmute together in his artworks.

Verma currently lives and works in Vadodara, Gujarat.
