An original work on canvas by Bharti Prajapati.
She has derived the essence of her painting from a doha by Kabir.
With a fast and competitive lifestyle, it's indeed a soul soothing experience to absorb some wise words from a great saint, philosopher and guide.
Bura jo dekhan mai chala,
bura na milya koi.
Jo dill khojo aapno,
mujsa bura na joi.
Who but we know the evil within ourselves,
this doha is about analysing one’s self.
The painting depicts a man luring the birds with grains,
not to feed them but to cage them for own gain.
Similarly, we look around to find faults and shortcomings to blame others.
If only we look within, we will notice all the flaws and wrong doings in ourselves.
The negative thoughts and emotions from within,
are capable of converting our actions and vision with hatred and wrong doings.
When the world around us appears evil, its within us that is mirrored outwards.
The moment we introspect, life changes from negative to positive.
