Manuva toh paanchi bhaya, udd ke chala aakash,
upar hi te giri pada, mann maya ke paas.
Mann hi ko paramodiye, mann hi ko updes,
jo yah mann ko basi kare, sheesh hoy sab des.

Mind like a bird is wanting to soar high in the sky,
the moment it succumbs to temptation its sure to have a fall.
Mind is to be concentrated upon; mind is to be advised.
The one who can control his mind,
is the one who has world in control.
It’s easy to be constrained when in isolation.
The self-control test is only when you live among
people and temptations are all around.
The ability to be content without succumbing to the lures
is the real strength and virtue of a noble man.
