Bikash Chandra Senapati is a contemporary printmaker and visual artist, originally trained in painting. He earned his Bachelor's in Fine Arts from Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore (2009–2013) and completed his Master's in Printmaking from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh (2017–2019). His work explores nature, memory, and traditional techniques through contemporary expressions in printmaking.
Bikash has received several accolades including the Junior Fellowship Award (2023–24, for 2020–21 batch), the ABIR First Take Award (2022), the Odisha State Award in Printmaking (2021), and the prestigious J.D. Gondhalekar Award from the Lokmanya Tilak Art Exhibition (2020). He also received the KHOJ Support Grant in 2020.
His solo exhibition “Niroopan: Representation of Nature’s Eternal Journey” was held at Triveni Gallery, New Delhi (2021). His recent exhibitions include “Printed Voices from India” (Ohio, USA, 2024), “MEMORIES – Artist Book Show” (Guwahati and New Delhi), and “Editions” at Nine Fish Art Gallery (2023).
Bikash actively engages in printmaking camps and workshops, including those organized by Lalit Kala Akademi, Auroville Art Camp, and UNKNOWNS Art Group. In 2021, he conducted a woodcut workshop at NIV Art Centre. His art is rooted in traditional forms yet reimagined through a modern lens, resonating with audiences both in India and abroad.
