Debajit Rudra Paul

Born and brought up in the north-eastern state of Tripura. he h as received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Painting from Government college of art and craft Agartala, Tripura in 2018 and University of Kalyani, west Bengal in 2020, respectively. He has participated in many national exhibitions and attended number of regional residencies in rural and tribal areas as Latabuni (West Bengal) in 2020, Bamutiya (Tripura) in 2022-23, Mathabhanga (North Bengal) in 2022, Kalimpong (West Bengal) in 2023, Surjamoninagar (Tripura) in 2024 , Kerala Lalithakala Academi, Kannur 2024.

He received and completed his one-year scholarship residency for research and development awarded by Lalit kala academy. He also got opportunity to be a part of prestigious, “The Baroda March” in 2024 and 2025, a curated show named “Gaman” at Vis A Vis studio cum gallery, A group show called “Mindscapes” at Durbar hall, Kerala, “Fresh Produce” a group show curated by Anika Mann at Method Delhi, “Inception Grant show” at Triveni kala sangam, Delhi; followed by receiving grant from Art Incept 2025 etc. His works has been shown at Art Mumbai 2025 in booth of Art Incept. Recently a group show is going on at The edit by art incept named“ The world as we meet it” designed by Rahul Kumar. His practice involves scavenging of expression from surrounding and rendering them on various poetic landscapes through his paintings.

The artist currently lives and practices in Baroda, India.
