Manisha Agrawal

Manisha Agrawal (b. 1989) is a contemporary visual artist whose practice centers around ecological awareness and the endangered relationship between humans and nature. She holds a B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Painting from the Government Fine Arts College, Indore (2010, 2013). Through a highly detailed and research-intensive visual language, her work addresses themes of extinction, environmental degradation, and the silent disappearance of flora and fauna.

Manisha has participated in over 60 group exhibitions across India and internationally. Key highlights include “ART35” at Nine Fish Art Gallery, Mumbai, “Parables and Paradoxes” (Anant Art & Apparao Galleries), “Echoes & Evolutions” at Gallery Nvya (2024), and repeated showings at the Museum of Goa (GAAF). Her solo shows include “VANISHING BEAUTY” at Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad (2019–20), “SHELTER” at TAP India (2020), and “AMIDST it all” at Apparao Art Gallery, Delhi (2023).

She has taken part in residencies such as the Museum of Goa Residency (2018) and the South Asian International Art Camp in Nepal. Awards include the M.P. State Award (2018–19), Jury and Gold Medals from Manav Sanket Academy, and international recognition like the ARTDex International Second Prize (2020).

Her practice blends miniature realism with modern narratives. Using animals, birds, and symbolic flora placed in stark, sterile environments—often within jars or preserved settings—her compositions urge viewers to confront the ongoing environmental crisis. Through her art, Manisha advocates for sustainable practices and the urgent need for conservation strategies in the Anthropocene era.

She lives and works in Delhi.
