Panchtatva meaning the five fundamental elements of life: Bhoomi (earth), Jala (water), Agni (fire), Vayu (air) and Akasha(sky). The colors representing these make up his color palette (black, red, blue, yellow, white).
The black bindu in this painting, occupying half the canvas represents the concentration of all the energy and creation and the four colored areas surrounding the bindu, represent the fundamental elements of nature, and their equal divisions represent the balance in the nature. Further the white dot inside the black bindu represents the polarity in nature, male and female entities. Further all this encompassed inside a square represents their collective stability in nature. The vertical panel right next to the square consists of five subdivisions, also representing the five fundamentals of which life thrives. Their representation in form of separate bindus symbolize that they are their complete, balanced individual entities. Further deliberate stacking of these elements is symbolic of their hierarchy in nature.
