Born in 1974, is a contemporary artist whose multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, video, performance, photography, earth art, installation, and sculpture. He is a recipient of the prestigious Inlaks Foundation Scholarship and further developed his artistic practice through the UNIDEE Residency Programs at Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto in Italy. Dash’s work critically engages with the fragile relationship between human existence, rapid urbanization, and ecological systems, often addressing themes of environmental degradation, migration, and the socio-political consequences of expanding cities.
His visual language is intuitive and fluid, allowing figurative forms to emerge organically through the creative process. Balancing playfulness with underlying tension, his works employ humor and satire to explore complex human behaviors shaped by power, desire, and survival. The figures in his compositions often appear deceptively simple yet carry a deeper ambiguity, oscillating between innocence and cunning. His practice is further enriched by subtle references to ancient sculptural traditions and cultural memory, connecting contemporary concerns with recurring patterns of human nature.
Dash has presented several solo exhibitions in India and internationally and has participated in numerous curated group exhibitions across prominent global art platforms. His achievements include the Inlaks Foundation Scholarship and participation in the UNIDEE Residency Program at Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto, Italy. His works are part of significant institutional and private collections, including the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art and the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. He currently lives and works in India, continuing to explore the intersections of ecology, society, and human behavior through his diverse artistic practice.
