Shrikant Kadam

Born in 1973, is an accomplished abstract artist whose practice spans over two decades. He completed his G.D. Art in Painting from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune in 1995, followed by a Diploma in Art Education (Dip. A.Ed.) from Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai in 1996. He later earned both his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from Savitribai Phule University, Pune in 2010, securing first rank with distinction. Kadam’s work reflects a profound engagement with internal thought processes, translating emotions and subconscious experiences into dynamic visual forms. Through abstraction, he explores rhythm, movement, and layered textures, creating compositions that convey both energy and introspection. His paintings are marked by expressive gestures, depth of color, and a strong sense of spatial balance, inviting viewers to derive personal meaning from his work. Kadam has held numerous solo exhibitions at prominent venues including multiple editions at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (2003–2023), Shridharani Art Gallery, New Delhi (2022), LDH-Eikowa Art Gallery, Hyderabad (2022), and galleries across Pune and Mumbai. He has participated extensively in national and international group exhibitions in Singapore, Korea, Dubai, London, Germany, Indonesia, and major Indian cities, with notable venues including the National Gallery of Modern Art, Mumbai, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, and India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. He has also actively contributed to artist residencies and camps, including the Ekant Residency in Bhavnagar (2019), AIFACS Artist Camp in New Delhi (2022), Auroville Artist Camp (2021), and numerous other workshops since the 1990s. His achievements include the Nag Foundation Scholarship in Germany (2006), Maharashtra State Art Awards (1998, 2018), and multiple awards from the Bombay Art Society, Art Society of India, and Sir J.J. School of Art. Kadam also serves as a committee member of the Bombay Art Society. His works are included in several private and institutional collections in India and abroad. He currently lives and works in Pune.
