Born in 1997, Sarthebari, Assam, is an art practitioner and sculptor whose work is deeply rooted in the cultural and natural sensibilities of his upbringing. He holds an MFA in Sculpture from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh (2023), and a BFA in Sculpture from Kokrajhar Music and Fine Art College, Assam (2021). Deka’s practice reflects an intimate dialogue with nature-its rhythms, movements, and ephemeral moments. From the sway of banana leaves to the shifting cadence of rain in the wind, these subtle experiences shape his visual language. Using materials and techniques inspired by his environment, he constructs sculptures that evoke nostalgia, memory, and a profound connection to his childhood landscape. His work invites viewers into a world where nature becomes both muse and metaphor.
