Astha Patel

Astha Patel is based in Vadodara, Gujarat. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Visual Arts from MSU Vadodara. She is interested in creating simulated environments and interpreting how nature would adapt or react to an artificial space. She is interested in learning the relationship that humans and the wild share. She paints from her experiences where she felt humbled in presence of the wild, which brings the luminous quality or a lucid feel in her paintings. She practices with mediums like gouache on paper to oil on canvas. She likes to make use of saturated, sharp and contrasting hues in her paintings.

She has been a part of group shows conducted by H H  Art Spaces, Goa and Priyasri Art Gallery, Mumbai. She has also been a participant of a group project displayed by Tate Collective London and Students’ Biennale at Kochi Biennale in 2020. She has been a part of Space Studio residency and ArtCore UK Winter Narratives residency. Her work has been published by Art India Mag and Mash India.
